Awarded For ‘U Took Me’

Posted on Monday, April 20, 2009 and Filed under Music

Garageband.com is this really good website where you can get your music reviewed by music lovers and other musicians. Here’s some the feedback I’ve gotten for my song U Took Me.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I’ve also gotten awards for “Best Male Vocals in Electronic”, “Best Bass in Electronic”,
“Best Programming in Electronic”, “Best Beat in Electronic”, all in the week of 1 Dec 2008.

Enough bragging. Feel free to download the song from jamendo.com, no costs whatsoever, unless you feel like making a donation :)

Not Really X-Mas Cheer…

Posted on Friday, December 19, 2008 and Filed under Music

…but it’s better than nothing. When nothing better to do I record myself with my mobile. Just for my ears but the sound is actually kind of cool so I thought I’d share recording with you. After all it’s X-Mas :)

The World Climate Day!

Posted on Saturday, December 6, 2008 and Filed under Music

To honor this day I’ve decided publish two songs related to the environment and climate change, well one of them is. The other one is more related to snow. But I find it somewhat relevant anyways.

Swedish Winters

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

This song actually is about the climate change. It a very sad goodbye to the Swedish winters, which will be gone unless we act soon (not just the Swedish ones of course). I guess in one way the market is already acting, as we might have to say goodbye to GM, Chrysler and Ford. I hope you like the song.

Som Snö

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

This song is basically the first song I’ve written in Swedish. It’s called Som Snö (it would translate to something like ‘As Snow’ or ‘Like Snow’) and is about a fragile relationship that is shaky but still very important and necessary. The snow describes how fragile the relationship is; if the temprature changes just a little, the snow will melt, the relationship will be gone. Like I said, it’s not directly about climate change but in a way it kinda is.

Sadly, I have found that there is very little information on the World Climate Day (or the UN Climate Day, as I think it’s called in Sweden at least). I tried to google it doesn’t give much. Spread the word, and more importantly, take care of our planet – as far as we know, we’ve only got one.

Locked inside the studio

Posted on Saturday, February 23, 2008 and Filed under Blog

I’m listening to Amour Du Sol by Yelle right now, I love it! The feeling of the song is so summer. It’s got that air of happiness and brightness you know will only last for a while. Yes, I am from Sweden so I’m used to short summers cut up by rainy days.

The same nonlasting happiness has caught me this week. I just finished listening to the last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I had already read it though, in August last year but I felt so sad that it all was over so I got the seven audiobooks and listened to them all. I know, geek alert, but it was as entertaining the second time around as it was the first. And this time when I heard the seventh and last “the end” it felt more like a happy goodbye than an abrubt ending to a long relationship. OMJ, I am really nerdy, haha.

Well, this rush of happiness pushed me into the studio and I began recording a song with the work title “It’s no good when you’re missunderstood”. I’m not sure the title will be suitable when I’m finished with it though since that line of lyric might be cut out. The problem is that the song I don’t quite get along. I’m not sure what I want with it and it just won’t get a mind of it’s own, some songs actually do and it turns into something of a cooperation. This can be dangerous though since they can sometimes “borrow” that mind from something I’ve heard on the radio.

I’ve been more or less locked inside the studio for the last two days trying to figure this song out, a waste of time maybe or just the time needed to get it right in the end. I will try again today and see if it’ll start work with me now. Keep your fingers crossed!
